Range

With its two long-range versions, Polestar 4 is more than capable of going the distance. The dual-motor powertrain includes a front motor disconnect function, enabling the car to prioritise efficiency over performance.

Energy saving heat pump

Waste heat doesn’t have to be wasted heat. The heat pump warms up the cabin and preserves charge for more time on the road by making use of run-off thermal energy from the electric motors, battery, and ambient air.

Charging

Polestar 4 readily accepts all available charging options, charging up to 200 kW DC for a rapid top up or overnight up to 22 kW AC.

All- or rear-wheel drive

Polestar 4 comes with an all-wheel drive or a rear-wheel drive drivetrain; each optimised for driver engagement. The all-wheel drive version includes a front motor disconnect function, extending the car’s range when conditions allow.

Aerodynamics

A low, sleek front. Air curtains below the headlights. Rear side aero blades. Flush glazing and door handles. A completely flat floor. All aerodynamic features are integrated design elements, working in unison to minimise drag and maximise range and performance.

Driving characteristics

The adjustable steering feedback, One pedal drive, and Sport mode settings make Polestar 4’s handling more customisable.

Adjustable steering feedback

The driver can adjust the feel of the progressive electric power steering in Polestar 4 according to personal preference. Choose between three modes: “light” for navigating city streets and parking lots, “standard” for motorways, and “firm” for active driving on twisty roads.

One pedal drive

Drive, brake, and regenerate, all with One pedal drive. By releasing the accelerator, the torque direction of the motors are reversed, slowing the car down while producing charge that extends Polestar 4’s range.

Sport mode

Activating Sport mode eases the assistance provided by the vehicle’s Electronic Stability Control system, giving the driver greater influence on the car’s handling. This mode also provides more traction when driving under heavy precipitation and on ice, snow, or gravel.

Suspension

Whether active or passive, the dampers fitted to Polestar 4 deliver an engaging drive without compromising on comfort. All options ensure an optimal connection to the road regardless of the driving conditions.

Tuned active ZF dampers with coil springs

The more performance-oriented active ZF dampers feature specially tuned valves to work in unison with the 22-inch forged alloy wheels. The stiffer springs and anti-roll bars ensure an even higher level of control when the suspension feel is set to “firm” via the centre display.

Available as an upgrade with the Dual motor version.

Active ZF dampers with coil springs

Developed by acclaimed German manufacturer ZF, the continuously controlled active dampers use sensors to detect and counter pitch and roll movements. The driver can select a “standard”, “nimble”, or “firm” suspension feel on the centre display.

High-capacity passive dampers

Adapted to active driving, the high-capacity passive dampers are designed to limit body roll and enhance control. They work with an increased compression level and internal rebound springs, similar to their active counterparts.

Exclusive to the Single motor version.

Chassis

To be able to tune a chassis for performance, the key components must be in place: a low centre of gravity, balanced weight distribution, and structural stiffness. Polestar 4 has it all. Thanks to the team of dedicated chassis engineers, its handling inspires confidence with an instant steering response that is unique to its kind.

22-inch Performance wheels

Engineered for increased performance, the 22-inch Performance wheels are forged instead of cast, making them stronger than conventional alloys while allowing for more intricate detailing. The signature design is done via a Polestar-patented laser etching process, using less energy than traditional cutting methods.
